Orientation of participating institutions
The Beginning of the 2019 Cultural Partnership Initiative Program, Participating Organizations Gather Together
In 2019, in total of 15 Korean culture and arts organizations will join the CPI program. With the 4 Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism-affiliated organizations, the 11 organizations have been selected to participate in this year program. All these organizations will manage training programs in different fields for the participant from July to November.
On April 19, KOFICE, the CPI secretariat, held the orientation meeting for all the participating organizations, where the organization meet each other, share their program plans and discuss how to collaborate.
In this meeting, some of the organizations who participated in the CPI last year, shared successful cases with other organizations. Chungbuk People’s Art Federation shared their experience on building relationships and networking with participants and International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the Auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP) introduced some projects which were organized in cooperation with former participants. Jeonju International Sori Festival Organization Committee, who joined the CPI program for the first time in 2018, introduced the collaborative project with CPI participants and Korean artists which they presented during the festival and some follow-up performances invited by Gugak Broadcasting Foundation, Busan Metropolitan Traditional Orchestra and so on.
This year, there are some new changes in the CPI program. The duration of residencies can be differed to organizations between 3 to 5 months, which would reflect the features of different fields and thus would increase concentration on the activities during the residency. Also, the CPI Secretariat will start a new follow-up program, which will support former participants to hold workshops with Korean professionals in their countries.
Meeting its 15th year, the CPI program is opening a call for applications for new participants this year. The CPI Secretariat and all the participating organizations are looking forward to meeting them soon.
