2019 CPI Farewell Ceremony
On November 15, the Farewell Ceremony was held together with various events and programs around Seoul’s Jongno and Chungmuro areas.
It was the last official event for the participants to come together before returning to their home countries.
The Farewell Ceremony is an official event where the 60 participants in this year come together to share and review their achievements during their stay in Korea.
Once the participants gathered, the Ceremony began with a delicious lunch that served as an excellent opportunity for the participants to socialize with others who were hosted in different organization.
After lunch, the event schedule was announced, and the first stop was Jongno’s Cinecoa Theater showing the nonverbal musical “Chef.” Because of its nonverbal nature, “Chef” transcended language barriers and offered opportunities for audiences to participante various events.
After the performance, the group went to Korea House, a beautiful traditional hanok building offering cultural experiences, performances, and traditional cuisine.
The participants trying on the hanbok, Korea’s traditional costume, was the highlight of the farewell Ceremony
The hanbok experience is one of the most beloved experiences for international guests in Korea as it is not only about appreciating the beauty of the traditional costume, but also about learning the traditional bows and etiquette of Korea.
The Farewell Ceremony began with the welcoming speech from director So Soon CHEON of CPI Secretariat , KOFICE, and the valedictory speech from Gediwon MULATU.
These were followed by the organizations’ presentations detailing the training programs held during the last five months and their achievements. For the participants, this was a meaningful opportunity to share their activities with other participants.
This year’s Farewell Ceremony also included a special performance by Purevkhuu MUNKHJIN, a 2013 CPI Participant.
The event ended with a dinner banquet, where the participants shared their memories and thoughts during their stay in Korea.
We hope that the five-month training program was a valuable and special experience for 2019 CPI participants, and we offer our heartfelt thanks to those who took part in the 2019 CPI Program and the Farewell Ceremony
